On March 6, 2013, a summons and warrant of arrest were filed against Tyler Jansma, a former Red Lodge resident. Charges were filed against him in Carbon County District Court with six counts: 3 felony charges for burglary and 3 misdemeanor charges for theft. Jansma filed bail which was set for $15,000 in Carbon County District Court and was released on April 17.
The burglaries and thefts charged allegedly involved a Remington rifle, chain saw, sanders and other various tools taken from private and commercial properties in Red Lodge.
The Red Lodge Police investigation involved items located at First National Pawn in Laurel. A change of plea hearing had been set for August 21. As of August 21, Judge Blair Jones signed an Order vacating the change of plea hearing scheduled for that same day. No other hearing is scheduled at this time.
