Trent Goldsberry, Bridger, Scores 2 of his 26 points against the Panthers.

After taking on the Cinderella role in the district tournament, the Bridger Scouts traveled to Laurel for the divisional tournament. Their first opponent was the Wibaux Longhorns, a team considered by many to be the tournament favorites. Wibaux jumped out to an early lead on the Scouts, due to their ability to create turnovers and efficiency on offense. While the Scouts were down, they put together a good first half of their own. Senior Scout Tryston Matt, kept the Scouts in the game with a barrage of threes, and were in striking distance going into halftime. However, led by their 6’5” senior Jacob Bakken and fellow senior Chase Bertelsen, the Longhorns pulled away in the second half. The Longhorns raced to the finish line, winning the game by the final score of 78-60. The Longhorns would go on to win the tournament, and will go to the state tournament with an impressive 23-1 record. Meanwhile, the Scouts next opponent would be their 6C rivals, the Park City Panthers in a loser goes home matchup. The Panthers didn’t waste any time, playing angry, they jumped out on the Scouts early gaining a 17-7 lead in the 1st quarter. Park City suffocated the Scouts along the perimeter, not allowing any threes for Tryston Matt. With no options on the outside, the Scouts began to bang inside the paint with Trent Goldsberry, who finished with an impressive 26 points and 12 rebounds. However, it just wouldn’t be enough for the Scouts to build a comeback. The Panthers would go on to win by the final score of 64-45.
