RL Soccer hit Laurel for 9

Red Lodge routed Laurel 9-3 in first game Saturday but came up short against Sidney strikers in the second game by a 4-2 margin.

Red Lodge started the first half against Laurel in awkward fashion but then began to take possession of the field and the ball by half time. Defenders Liam Gildehaus, Joe Lemoine, Cole Daily and Eric Dye put a stop on nearly every Laurel run by halftime. Meanwhile, midfielders Sam Posey and Adrian Edwards took control of midfield as Red Lodge dominated possession enabling them to score 9 goals.

Red Lodge went into game two against Sidney with just one sub and found itself struggling against a tough, fresh and eager side. By half time Sidney were 4 – 0 up. But Red Lodge put on a run, again bolstered by a tough defense and scored two in the second half while keeping Sidney scoreless.

Next Saturday, Red Lodge plays Big Timber/ Columbus and Sidney.
