Daniella Russell got 12 kills from 38, Hanna Kohley made half of the 10 aces, Kane 10 of 38 digs and Hilderman repeating her efforts from the second game with 31 assists from 34. Onwards Red Lodge marched into the 4th place match, defeating Jefferson in five sets, 24-26, 25-19, 25-11, 26-28, 15-10. On form this night was another good showing from Russell with 7 aces out of 20, and 22 kills from 64. Kane pulled out 39 digs from an astounding 111 and Hilderman impressed with 56 assists out of 60. The Lady Rams now had a shot at a final place if they could get passed Forsyth again. But again the Dogies proved to strong, defeating the Rams 25-19, 25-21, 25-17. Russell got 13 of 23 kills, and Hilderman obtained 100 percent in assists, getting 22. Lady Rams coach Darcy Stracke feels the team is in a “good position” going to State. “We’re super young, and only have a few seniors. We have very driven players, and each tournament is like a brand new season,” she said. “Losing the first game at Divisionals was an eye opener but we came back, winning the next three games.” Regarding another possible encounter with Huntley Project, Stracke said, “We’ll approach Huntley like any other team, taking it one game at a time.” The Lady Rams face Fairfield, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at MSU-Bozeman.
