In Praise of Bob Moran

To the Editor, We have lost the cornerstone of the Red Lodge Carnegie Library with the death of Bob Moran. During his decades at the library Bob influenced generations of readers with his love and enthusiasm for literature. He amazed residents and visitors alike with his ability to remember your name, your literary preferences and the whereabouts of the book you just had to read. The library flourished thanks to his ability to recruit volunteers and donations to improve the function and beauty of the library. Bob was always proud of the library's history and obtained a National Registry of Historic Buildings designation for the library. We will feel Bob's continued presence in the library and look forward to the many ways we can pay tribute to his legacy in the months and years to come. In 2019 the Red Lodge Carnegie Library will celebrate its 100th year and we are certain in our hearts and minds that Bob will be celebrating with us. If you wish to truly honor Bob's memory please visit your local library to get a library card and READ! Goodbye, Bob, and thank you - Red Lodge Carnegie Library Staff and Board of Trustees Red Lodge Friends of the Library
