David Hill Sr
David Hill Sr. was born July 25, 1950 to Myrna and CW Hill. At the age of 16 Dave joined his father helping with the family's flooring installation business. When Dave graduated from West High, he followed in his father's footsteps and made flooring his career.
Dave married his wife, Elaine on Feb. 8, 1972. In their 42 years together they shared many blessings including their son, David Jr. and daughter, Jennifer. Dave had a deep love and knowledge of sports. He spent count less hours coaching, playing, and talking sports with David. Those games will never be forgotten and the conversations will be so greatly missed. He also loved the outdoors, camping with his family and fishing with Jennifer. Always playing on Jennifer's beliefs and convincing her singing to the fish will make for more catches.
As much as Dave loved and adored Elaine, David and Jennifer, his greatest joy came into this world in the form of grandchildren. Wonderful memories of family, ‘March Madness’, board games, songs, and laughter filled his heart and all of theirs.
They are all still waiting for him to catch Santa. Every one of them was his favorite, was his plus one, was his life.
Dave also had a close relationship with his sister, Becky. Looking forward to their coffee time every Monday morning.
Dave l ived by the words of Bob Dylan, "All I can do is be is me, whoever that is."
We are endlessly grateful for the man who appeared so tough on the exterior but loved beyond words. Who taught us all that actions speak louder than words and showed us, as often as possible that our happiness was his life's work.
For Elaine, "I'll let you be in my dreams, if I can be in yours."
Your grandchi ldren can't wait to see you again for chocolate cake and diet coke.
