Roberts Streitmatter and Steve Galloway, owners of The Beartooth Gallery in Red Lodge, proudly handed over $6,144.60 to Mayor Ed Williams last Friday to provide for a handicapped chair lift for the Red Lodge City pool. A fundraiser at the Gallery, showcasing the work of Brenna Tyler and Jerry Inman, along with a raffle for $2,000 worth of additional art helped both Streitmatter and Galloway achieve their goal. “This will make things a little better. The pool has the bones to be a great place,” said Streitmatter. “This is truly outstanding, and shows us a little bit about our community, when the residential and business community come together,” said Williams. “This type of thing is most appreciated.” Tyler, whose work emphasizes the union between sagebrush and metal parts, was pleased her work could help in some way towards the goal. “This is great I can contribute to this. This is what art is for,” she said. The handicapped chair is on order and expected next week.
