Beartooth Pass voted a top ride

The Beartooth Pass has been voted one of the country’s best motorcycle rides, according to travel experts and readers of USA Today.

The Beartooth Pass finished 3rd after writers nominated 20 of the country’s favorite roads for a motorcycle ride. The 3rd place finish was the highest in the Western United States.

“The popularity of the Pass continues to grow. The coordinated community efforts promoting travel to the Beartooth Pass appears to be working!” said Patty Davis, Red Lodge Area Chamber of Commerce Director. “More and more people are discovering this asset that we are so passionate about ourselves. We are fortunate to have this incredible highway in our backyard.”

Red Lodge Mayor Ed Williams was equally pleased with the news. “It is not surprising that the Beartooth Pass is a favorite of everyone who has had the experience of being here, including being a favorite road for a motorcycle ride,” said Williams. “Red Lodge and the surrounding area is one of the few pristine places in the world that has much to offer from the historic downtown to the Beartooth Highway that is an All-American Road that has been called ‘the most beautiful drive in America,’ by late CBS correspondent Charles Kuralt.”

Williams went on to add, “For me, when I awake each morning and can see the beauty that surrounds us, I realize how lucky I am to live in such a great place. Hopefully the more information people have about Red Lodge and the surrounding area the more visitors we will have in our community thereby enhancing our economy.”
